Using a Clevertouch screen with Google Classroom or Teams for Education
Interactive screens work well with the online tools many schools already use. The screen does not replace Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams. It gives you a bigger, touchable place to show and use them. What works depends on how your school has set the screen up.
Using Google Classroom
- Open the web browser on the screen or the browser on your connected laptop.
- Go to Google Classroom and sign in with your school account.
- Open the class and the post you want to show, such as an assignment or a shared slide.
- Use the annotation tool or your whiteboard app to mark up work, then save or share the result.
Using Teams for Education
- Open Teams on a connected laptop, in the browser, or in an app if your screen has one.
- Sign in with your school account.
- Open the class team, then the assignment, file or meeting.
- For live online lessons, see the camera and microphone advice for your screen, and test before the lesson.
Handing work back
Many teachers save a screenshot or whiteboard file after a lesson and add it as a resource in the class. Check that files saved from the screen are in a format pupils can open, such as PDF or image.
Good practice
- Always sign out when you finish. Never leave your school account open on a shared screen.
- Do not show pupil names, grades or private comments on the big screen.
- Make sure notifications are off so messages do not appear while you teach.
- Use your own laptop if you need a lot of typing.
If it does not work
Sign-in problems may be caused by a wrong date and time on the screen, blocked sites, or a poor connection. Check the screen's date and time first, then try on your laptop to see if the problem is the screen or your account.
When to get more help
Ask IT if you cannot sign in, the site is blocked, or the browser keeps asking you to verify. Say whether the problem is the same on your laptop.
